Cathalene Bowler

Co-owner & founder

Cathalene Bowler

Cathalene holds a PhD in Accounting and is an Enrolled Agent with more than 25 years of accounting and taxation experience. An eleven-year U.S. Army veteran, she serves as an Associate Professor at the University of Northern Iowa, where she teaches income taxation and tax research and coordinates the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site. She is QuickBooks certified in bookkeeping and payroll.

Bruce Bowler

Co-owner

Bruce Bowler

Bruce retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He holds a degree in management information systems and brings more than 20 years of experience across accounting, budgeting, information systems, payroll, and taxation. His background includes church treasury work, taxation at local accounting firms, and managing budgets, financial reports, and payroll at the University of Northern Iowa’s Wilson College of Business.

Bruce Bowler Jr.

Bruce Bowler Jr.

Bruce holds a master’s degree in accounting and has more than nine years of experience in the field. His career spans Big Four audit, senior accounting, and management at a regional accounting firm, where he oversaw monthly client deliverables. He brings strong experience in month-end close, accounting standards, process improvement, key performance metrics, and team leadership.

Gary Simms Jr.

Co-owner

Gary Simms Jr.

Gary holds a master’s degree in business administration and brings more than 18 years of financial-industry experience. His career has focused on financial-services compliance and building governance infrastructure that helps organizations use data, technology, and financial products responsibly. He spent more than a decade at a major bank, most recently as Executive Director of Permissible Data Use.
